Capacity Utilization in the United States averaged 80.41 percent from 1967 until 2016, reaching an all time high of 89.4 percent in January of 1967 and a record low of 66.89 percent in June of 2009. Maybe some stabilsation now?!
As can be seen in the graph above, Capacity Utilization in the United States increased to 75.4 percent in April from 74.9 percent in March of 2016. Another good indicator about the current state of the economy in the United States is the figure on the Industrial production. Industrial production measures the output of businesses integrated in industrial sector of the economy such as manufacturing, mining, and utilities.
