In the overview above >> showing the evolution of each sector weigthings in the S&P 500 (US-Stock Market Index) during the last decades it is easy to see, that TECHNOLOGY was only ranked Number 9 out of 10 sectors in the year 1990.
In the meantime, the Tech-Sector overtook all other sectors until eventually reaching and holding its number one position from the year 2008 onwards! Currently more than a fifth of the S&P 500-moves are driven by Tech-companies.
Final Remark: The person this short posting was referring to in the start is the real Warren Buffet (who is 'still' trying to avoid tech as an investment for his stocks-portfolio, but well: his "new" colleagues bought some stocks which are eventually exposed to the tech-universe!).
